Rofl Oveur.
You are sooo beatiful when angry...hhhm, never mind that one on second thought :/
Anyway, got to see you avidly defending teh chatlog and actions of the ccp team.
Tbh, the questions i put in the devchat thread werent asked, and even when Discorporation is more or less in my own corporation he still didn't see fit to aask about my pet hybrids. (I'll get him for that tho ).
The devchat was ok, esopecially after this long a period of silence. What I do find somewhat depressing is all the talk of "months, march, not make next patch but a bigger one several months later, etc".
The timescales are looking to be getting too long again here. I know bugfixing is prio nr.1 atm and you told us code intensive stuff is out for the moment. But why then need non-code intensive stuff take so damn long ? Because as you said yourself, the one employee does not what the other can do... I don't look forward with keeping up interest for 6 months waiting for some essential changes (which ofc yes are different for me then for others).
All in all this makes me moderately happy with this devchat. For a 3 hour affair the questions answered are few and far apart tbh. Maybe adopting a system in which the questions are given beforehand and answers can be worked out beforehand to some extent would help get more info into those 3 hours ?
As it is now I've got the nagging feeling those Dev's are doing other things while ansering these questions. I could type that chatlog in 15 minutes tops. I could answer those questions in 30 minutes tops. Where is the time going ? Getting the info to the table maybe ? Then cut that time by bringing it outside the devchat timescale. Pre-stated questions can do that.
Ofc, some interactivity is needed, otherwise you could just as well turn this into a devblog instead of chat. But maybe posting a devblog with the primary questions and answers and then having a devchat to answer follow ups and do some discussing on it ?
I'd imagine you'd get more depth into the information that way. These answers remain somewhat shallow. _______________________________________________
